Emma Troyer is a senior music education major from Sandusky, Ohio. As a student in the ΜμΜμ³ΤΉΟ State Glauser School of Music, she has found a strong sense of community while preparing for a career in music education.
βΜμΜμ³ΤΉΟ State was always my top school, but I didnβt know if I could afford to come here,β Emma said. βThese scholarships have really made that dream a reality and allowed me to attend.β
Emma is a recipient of several scholarships, including The Dr. Rosemarie B. Manganello Music Education Scholarship, the Sara Stone Miller Endowment for Music Education and the Irene Beamer Scholarship, which was created through a bequest in the 1970s. These scholarships have allowed her to attend her top-choice school and have become even more meaningful because they reflect a shared belief in the importance of music education.
βMusic education is something I have always felt very passionate about,β she said. βReceiving a scholarship, especially for this field, is something I really value. It feels like other people want to support music education in our schools.β
During her time at ΜμΜμ³ΤΉΟ State, Emma has performed with the universityβs Wind and Flute Ensembles, including a recent performance at the 2026 Ohio Music Educators Association Professional Development Conference, where music educators from across the state gathered.
To those considering supporting scholarships at ΜμΜμ³ΤΉΟ State, Emma offers a clear message: βIt can change a studentβs life. Without scholarships, many students wouldnβt be able to follow their dreams and reach their full potential.β
