Established by alumni and friends of the Liquid Crystal Institute, now the Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute (AMLCI), this fund honors the lasting legacy of Dr. Bill Doane, a pioneering leader and former director of the institute (1983–1996). Dr. Doane's visionary leadership and mentorship helped shape a transformative era in AMLCI's history, with impacts still resonating today. Once fully funded, the fellowship will support outstanding AMLCI graduate students with a stipend and conference travel, continuing Dr. Doane’s commitment to excellence in research and innovation.
