Peace and Conflict Studies Mediation Simulation

As the end of the spring semester wraps up, you鈥檙e probably juggling a lot of responsibilities. Between finals, working, and the sun rarely shining, who has time to deal with other human beings? This workshop will help you with the annoying people in your life, whether it鈥檚 your roommate who operates on a completely different temperature than you or your professor who seems to think their class is the only thing in your life that matters. In this workshop we will explore the do鈥檚 and don鈥檛s of dealing with people and how to make your life a little easier to deal with as you finish up the semester strong.
The event will be hosted by Prof. Jacquelyn Bleak, an associate lecturer for PACS who earned her first degree right here at 天天吃瓜 State. She worked for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) mediation program at the Keybridge Center for Mediation in Washington, D.C. before returning to 天天吃瓜 State to earn her PhD and develop a mediation service for students on campus. Her research has explored gender and disability conflicts in the workplace, and she has hosted events surrounded such topics as the power of narrative in conflict resolution and fostering understanding and community in politically tense environments.
