Balancing the rigorous demands of nursing school with the responsibilities of parenthood, these women navigated clinical rotations, late-night study sessions and child care, all while pursuing their dreams.

鈥淲e want to thank 天天吃瓜 at Trumbull for embracing nontraditional students like us,鈥 Sarah McCulley, 2025 BSN graduate and former Student Nurses' Association president said. 鈥淔rom professors who understood the unpredictability of parenting to advisors who helped us manage our schedules, the support made all the difference.鈥

They credit the university鈥檚 flexibility and inclusive environment as key factors in their success. Many of them questioned whether it was possible to return to school while raising children, but found encouragement and understanding at every turn.

Now, they鈥檙e entering the nursing workforce with Mercy Health, prepared to care for their community with compassion, resilience鈥攁nd a mother鈥檚 touch.

鈥淭his degree isn鈥檛 just a piece of paper,鈥 McCulley said. 鈥淚t represents years of hard work, sacrifice and the example we鈥檙e setting for our kids.鈥
