Lauren Lemley is a Lecturer in Modern and Classical Language Studies at ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï, where she teaches American Sign Language (ASL) courses ranging from elementary through advanced levels. Lemley has experience teaching ASL since 2015 at both the high school and university levels. As a Deaf instructor, she uses an immersive, voice-off approach to language instruction that emphasizes active communication and the development of expressive and receptive ASL skills.

Lemley earned her B.A. in American Sign Language and her M.Ed. in Educational Technology with a concentration in Online and Blended Learning. She is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Interprofessional Leadership with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction at ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï. Her professional interests include ASL pedagogy, curriculum and instruction, educational technology, and student language development.

In addition to teaching, Lemley contributes to ASL curriculum development and has served on the curriculum committee. She currently serves as a University Supervisor for K–12 ASL student teachers and has completed training in the Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI). She also supports students preparing for ASL licensure assessments and serves as a faculty advisor for ASL students.
