Bobby Sanabria

A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, drummer, percussionist, composer, arranger, documentary film producer, activist, radio host, writer, and multi-Grammy nominated as a leader,鈥疊obby Sanabria鈥痠s a native Nuyorican son of the South Bronx.鈥疕is versatility as both a drummer and percussionist from small group to big band has become legendary.鈥疕e's performed and recorded with every major figure in the history of Latin jazz, jazz, and salsa, with such legends as Dizzy Gillespie, Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, Eddie Palmieri, Paquito D'Rivera, Candido, Charles McPherson, Larry Harlow, Ruben Blades, Celia Cruz, and the Father of Afro-Cuban jazz, Mario Bauz谩 as his drummer for 9 years touring and recording on his major Grammy nominated albums. He is the leader of Quarteto Ach茅, Sexteto Ibiano, Ascensi贸n, and his Multiverse Big Band. His big band albums have all been nominated for Grammys for a total of nine, including鈥疉fro-Cuban Dream: Live & In Clave!!!, Big Band Urban鈥疐olkTales, Multiverse鈥(double Grammy nominated), and鈥疻est Side Story Reimagined鈥痺hich was awarded the Jazz Journalists Record of the Year Award for 2019 and hailed as a masterpiece by the Wall Street Journal, as well as鈥疜enya Revisited Live!!! and Tito Puente Masterworks Live!!!,鈥痺ith Bobby conducting the Manhattan School of Music Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra, including his most recent Grammy nomination for VOX HUMANA with his Multiverse Big Band for the 2024 Grammys.鈥疍RUM! Magazine named him Percussionist of the Year (2005); he was named Percussionist of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association in 2011 and 2013.鈥疕e has been named one of the top ten percussionists in the world by the readers and critics of Downbeat magazine for the last 10 years and is a member of Max Roach's legendary percussion ensemble M'BOOM.鈥疢r. Sanabria has composed the music for several award winning, critically acclaimed documentaries - From Mambo to Hip Hip: A South Bronx Tale (2006) where he was also a producer, consultant and on air personality, Some Girls (2017), and La Madrina: The Savage Life of Loraine Padilla (2020). Other documentaries he has been featured in on screen and acted as a consultant, producer are, The Palladium: Where Mambo Was King (2003), Latin Music U.S.A. (2006), We Like It Like That: The Story of Latin Boogaloo (2015), and Let's Get The Rhythm 2016).鈥疘n 2012 Maestro Sanabria was selected鈥痓y legendary jazz pianist Herbie Hancock鈥痶o represent Latin jazz with his Quarteto Ache' as part of the first Annual UNESCO International Day of鈥疛azz at the United Nations

Among his numerous awards include induction into the 2006 Bronx Walk of Fame, the 2018 Jazz Education Network's LeJENS of Latin Jazz Award and being honored by his name being read into the U.S. Congressional鈥疪ecord by Congressman Dennis Kucinich of Ohio in 2008.鈥疘n 2019 he was named Godfather/Padrino of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City.鈥疕e was recently bestowed an Honorary Doctorate by Lehman College in New York.鈥疕e is on the faculty of New School University (his 28th year), is the Co-Artistic Director of the Bronx Music Heritage Center/Bronx Music Hall, and is the host of the Latin Jazz Cruise on WBGO FM, America's leading jazz station.鈥疕is lifetime dedication to spreading the history, culture, of jazz and Latin jazz to the general public as a performer, as well as educating a new generation of players, composers, arrangers, has no parallel.鈥疕is latest critically acclaimed double CD with his Multiverse Big Band,鈥疺OX HUMANA,鈥痳ecorded live at Dizzy's, NYC鈥痜eatures vocalists Janis Siegel, Antoinette Montague and Jennifer Jade Ledesna and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Latin Jazz recording (2024).

Violinist Erin Phelps Reidhead received her bachelor鈥檚 degree in violin performance with Academic Honors from the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM), where she studied with Stephen Rose. During her time at CIM, Erin took long-term Suzuki teacher training with Kimberly Meier-Sims and is registered to teach all 10 books. Erin was on faculty at the Sato Center for Suzuki Studies at CIM from 2012-2022, and is now focusing on her home studio in Pepper Pike, Ohio. Her students have been accepted to many area youth orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra, the Contemporary Youth Orchestra and the Cleveland Pops Youth Orchestra.  Erin has had students go on to major in both music performance and music education. 

An avid orchestral musician, Erin is a member of both the Firelands Symphony Orchestra and the Canton Symphony Orchestra. She is a frequent performer throughout Northeast Ohio, having played at Playhouse Square, the Blossom Music Center, Severance Hall and the Maltz Center, and with the Akron Symphony, Cleveland Pops Orchestra, BlueWater Chamber Orchestra, Erie Philharmonic, the Candlelight Concerts series and Earth and Air String Orchestra. She has performed with artists such as Johnny Mathis, The Who, Harry Connick Jr. and the Beach Boys.

Floco Torres is a Hip-Hop musician, 38 projects deep into his career. He has envisioned and revisioned his creative expression countless times and with this adaptive style he has gained a steady following for his hip-hop-meets-alternative rock style. Floco continues to redefine hip-hop with his own personal style through his flows, production and graphic design.

A continued curiosity in design led to participating in an internship with Burt & Burt Design in Macon Ga where Floco Torres made the first FT logo. From there, he started creating more concert/event posters, community engagement campaigns and social media marketing graphics. Early on in his career, he learned that he could use his skill sets & influence as an artist to also work with organizations in different communities to implement positive changes that we want to see. From journalism, to non-profit work & board service, to being an advocate for artists rights and equitable opportunities, Floco Torres takes pride in learning, serving and sharing resources with the community.

Grammy Winner, Doris Duke Artist and Guggenheim and MacArthur Fellow Miguel Zen贸n represents a select group of musicians who have masterfully balanced and blended the often-contradictory poles of innovation and tradition. Widely considered one of the most groundbreaking and influential saxophonists and composers of his generation, he has also developed a unique voice as a conceptualist, concentrating his efforts on perfecting a fine mix between jazz and his many musical influences.

Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Zen贸n has released eighteen recordings as a leader, including his latest, "Vanguardia Subterr谩nea: Live at The Village Vanguard "(2025), the Grammy-nominated "Golden City" (2024), and the Grammy-winning album "El Arte Del Bolero" Vol. 2 (2023). He has worked with luminaries such as The SFJAZZ Collective, Charlie Haden, Fred Hersch, Kenny Werner, David S谩nchez, Danilo Perez, The Village Vanguard Orchestra, Kurt Elling, Joey Calderazzo, Steve Coleman, Ray Barreto, Andy Monta帽ez, Jerry Gonzalez & The Fort Apache Band, The Mingus Big Band and Bobby Hutcherson.

In April 2008 he received a fellowship from the prestigious John Simon Guggenheim Foundation. Later that year he was one of 25 distinguished individuals chosen to receive the coveted MacArthur Fellowship, also known as the 鈥淕enius Grant.鈥 In 2011 he founded Caravana Cultural, a program which presents free-of-charge Jazz concerts in rural areas of Puerto Rico. In 2022 he received an Honorary Doctorate from La Universidad del Sagrado Coraz贸n in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the highest honor bestowed by the institution. In 2024 he received a Doris Duke Artist Award from the Doris Duke Foundation.

Zen贸n has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe and The Chicago Tribune. In addition, he topped both the Jazz Artist of the Year and Alto Saxophonist of the Year categories in the 2014 JazzTimes Critics Poll and was selected as Alto Saxophonist of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association in 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2020 (when he was also recognized as Arranger of the Year). In 2023 he was recognized by the same organization as the Composer of the Year.

As a composer he has been commissioned by SFJAZZ, NYO Jazz, The New York State Council on the Arts, Chamber Music America, Logan Center for The Arts, The Hyde Park Jazz Festival, The John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, MIT, Spektral Quartet, Miller Theater, The Hewlett Foundation, Peak Performances, PRISM Quartet, Kinetic Ensemble and many of his peers. Zen贸n has given hundreds of lectures and master classes at institutions all over the world and is an Associate Professor in the Music & Theater Arts Department at MIT.

Jason K. Fettig is an internationally recognized conductor of wind band and orchestra and a highly sought-after educator and clinician. Performances under his baton have occurred in forty-nine U.S. states as well as Japan, the Czech Republic, Austria and The Netherlands, and live concerts have been regularly heard on National Public Radio鈥檚 鈥淧erformance Today,鈥 and on national television broadcasts from the White House, on 鈥淭he Today Show,鈥 the 鈥淒avid Letterman Show鈥 on PBS, NBC and CBS. He has worked with an incredibly wide array of artists from across the entire musical spectrum, from internationally renowned classical artists such as pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, violinist Joshua Bell, and the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, Broadway luminaries Norm Lewis, Jessica Vosk, and Lea Salonga, to pop superstars including Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks and Lady Gaga.

Adam Piotr 呕ukiewicz is an award-winning Polish pianist and Steinway Artist known for his critically acclaimed performances and innovative programming. Praised as 鈥渁 fine artist [who] brings a gracious sense of beauty to all of the music鈥︹ (Fanfare Magazine ), he has performed at major venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Vienna鈥檚 Musikverein, Teatro alla Scala and KKL Luzern. His performances have been broadcast internationally, including a televised solo appearance during China鈥檚 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival, viewed by over 1.4 billion people on CCTV. 呕ukiewicz is a passionate advocate for both traditional repertoire and contemporary music, frequently commissioning and premiering new works. He has served on the faculties of international summer festivals in Italy, Poland and Czechia, and is an associate professor of Piano at the University of Northern Colorado.

Stephanie Shih-yu Cheng is a Taiwanese-American pianist whose expressive performances have taken her to renowned stages worldwide, including Carnegie鈥檚 Weill Recital Hall, Tokyo鈥檚 Opera City Hall, the National Concert Hall in Taipei and the Dame Myra Hess Series in Chicago. Her performances have been featured on NPR, WFMT, Nippon TV and MSNBC. Cheng recently released solo album "Ravel: Masterworks for the Piano,"(Centaur Records) which was hailed as 鈥渁 massive achievement鈥 and 鈥渞equired listening for Francophiles.鈥 She also appears on "License to Thrill" (Summit Records) and has collaborated with artists such as Leon Fleisher and Sara Davis Buechner. A passionate educator, she has taught at institutions in the U.S., Middle East and Asia, and regularly gives masterclasses and serves on competition juries worldwide. Cheng is professor of Piano and Chair of the Keyboard Department at the University of Denver.
