Transition to NEOMED Health Care at DeWeese Health Center and Care Options for Faculty and Staff

Beginning July 1, 2026, 天天吃瓜 is partnering with Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED Health Care LLC) to operate DeWeese Health Center, our 天天吃瓜 Campus on-campus health center. This strategic partnership is designed to strengthen our 天天吃瓜 State healthcare infrastructure and ensure that our entire campus community has continued access to high-quality, patient-centered care.

Invitation

All faculty and staff members are welcome to continue using the on-campus health center for medical care. The health center remains a convenient, fully accessible resource right here on campus to support your personal health and well-being.

Familiar Faces and Continuity of Care

We are pleased to share that outside of those who plan to retire, many of the same dedicated staff members will continue to provide care at the health center. Additionally, the partnership with NEOMED brings a team of board-certified and nationally recognized physicians to ensure a seamless transition and continuity of care.

What this Partnership Brings to 天天吃瓜 Campus

Under NEOMED Health Care leadership, patients will benefit from a modernized healthcare experience and enhanced resources, including:

  • Expanded Services: Access to comprehensive primary care, acute care for a variety of conditions, routine preventive services, chronic disease management, general gynecological and women鈥檚 health, travel medicine and vaccines. Additionally, psychiatric care and assessment services will be expanded.
  • Epic EMR and MyChart Integration: The health center is transitioning to the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system. This digital integration connects care with regional and national providers and allows you to easily manage appointments, view test results and access your health data through the MyChart portal.
  • Hours of Operation: The health center will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Please visit for more information about the services it offers.

Insurance and Billing Information

NEOMED Health Care accepts more than 30 insurance plans, both in-network and out-of-network, including university employee insurance plans. For faculty and staff, your insurance policy will be billed at the time of service just as it would in any external medical setting. We recommend reaching out to your insurance carrier or the health center directly to confirm your plan鈥檚 specific network status, deductibles and co-pay requirements.

Your existing medical records will remain completely secure and confidential under federal and state privacy laws. To ensure your care transitions smoothly, your records can be transferred into the new Epic system once you provide permission during your next visit or scheduling request.

For more details regarding the transition, please visit the DeWeese Health Center Partnership FAQ Page. If you have additional questions, please contact the Office of the Dean of Students at ODOS@kent.edu.
