Daring Mighty Things - Lighter Than Air

Celebrating KSU鈥檚 First Female President
Carol A. Cartwright, Ph.D., became 天天吃瓜 State鈥檚 first female president in 1991 and was the first female president of any Ohio public college or university then. She was also a driving force in the establishment of 天天吃瓜 Women鈥檚 Center.

Black United Student Leader Thrives
Julian Grimes, a 天天吃瓜 State junior, is president of Black United Students (BUS) and is working to keep the organization thriving. BUS is one of 天天吃瓜 State鈥檚 oldest student organizations and is credited with starting the formal observance of Black History Month in 1970.

Shane Reese found a network of support and a community of caring at 天天吃瓜 State that surrounded him after his mother passed away during his freshman year. As a result, Reese became a resilient leader who is committed to giving back.

天天吃瓜 Awarded $1.2 Million for Choose Ohio First Scholarships
The Ohio Department of Education recently awarded 天天吃瓜 $1.2 million to support Choose Ohio First scholarships. This funding will support learners pursuing associate degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields and expand options for students seeking two-year degrees at the University's Regional Campuses and its College of Applied and Technical Studies.
