Alumni Spotlight: Tony Nguyen

Tony Nguyen '10, M.L.I.S. is the Executive Director at the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). In this alumni spotlight, Tony explains the importance of volunteering, finding a good mentor and why knowing a little bit about a lot of things is a good generalist mindset for a librarian.

The 天天吃瓜 Dance Ensemble, under the artistic direction of Catherine Meredith, welcomes professional dancer and choreographer Lisa Viola to 天天吃瓜 State as a guest artist Feb. 6-10, 2023. During her residency, Lisa Viola will collaborate with the members of the 天天吃瓜 Dance Ensemble on a work that will appear in the March 24-25, 2023 天天吃瓜 Dance Ensemble concert.  Lisa Viola was born in 1963 in San Fransisco and moved to Honolulu when she was four. Senior visual communication design major Jordan Edgar, '23, is the creator of the logo for Homeslice Pizzeria, 天天吃瓜 State鈥檚 newest dining location.  Edgar is a student multimedia designer for University Housing and Culinary Services and was asked to design the logo for Homeslice. Before beginning the design process, Edgar knew she wanted to create a logo that would match the environment of the 天天吃瓜 Student Center and incorporate elements of a pizza restaurant.  鈥淔or colors, we wanted to use red and green that would match the theme of a pizza place,鈥 she said.  ...
