Team ILEP celebrates after being crowned GlobalJam Champs

March Madness got underway early this past Saturday at the 天天吃瓜 Student Recreation and Wellness Center as eight international teams squared off to compete in the university's first GlobalJam Basketball Tournament. In the championship game, Team ILEP out-shot and out-hustled a talented, physical Team China 18 to 11 to claim the GlobalJam title. Flashes Win 2017 MAC Men's Basketball Tournament

The 天天吃瓜 men's basketball team (22-13) won the 2017 Mid-American Conference Tournament Championship, defeating the top-seeded Akron Zips (26-8), 70-65. "Tonight the story is about our guys and what they've been able to accomplish here tonight, what they've been able to accomplish here over the past week, what they've been able to accomplish over the entire season," exclaimed head coach Rob Senderoff. Fear of losing federal databases filled with decades of scientific research has sparked 鈥渄ata rescue鈥� events over the past few weeks. The events consist of science professionals searching and pulling data before it could be lost forever from government servers. As spring break quickly approaches, a growing number of 天天吃瓜 students are choosing alternative ways to spend their time off. Instead of indulging in the sun soaked beaches far, far away from northeast Ohio, some students will be rebuilding homes, reaching out to refugees, and helping to feed the homeless all around the country.
