Recycling saves money, resources and landfill space. ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï's Office of Sustainability is working to increase the campus recycling rate from 25 to 35 percent for 2014-15. "I just want everyone to get excited about recycllng," says Melanie Knowles, ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï State's sustalnability manager. More items in the university's waste stream can now be recycled. The majority of our students choose to go on to doctoral study in philosophy or a related discipline, while the rest either pursue further graduate study in other areas, or they seek employment outside academe.

The mission of the department is to prepare students to use mathematics and/or statistics in a variety of settings, including industry, government agencies, teaching mathematics at all levels and for careers as research mathematicians.

Does mindfulness meditation truly help in relieving stress and managing blood pressure? It is a popular technique, but until now no large-scale studies utilizing meditation have been conducted. With a $3.64 million grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, two ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï researchers and their colleague from the University of Pennsylvania will recruit and treat 180 individuals with elevated blood pressure from Northeast Ohio and Philadelphia to see if learning how to manage stress through mindfulness meditation or other stress management strategies can help keep them o...

ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï faculty, staff and studenta are invited to walk or ride to downtown via Lefton Esplanade during tne fourth annual "Let's Take a Ride Walk" event on Monday, Sept. 22. The event 1B free and open to ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Slate faculty. staff and 11udents.
