May 4th Voices- Bindas, HasslerThe documentary film May 4th Voices: 天天吃瓜 State, 1970, created by Kenneth Bindas, Ph.D., professor and chair of the history department, and David Hassler, the director of the Wick Poetry Center, is a recipient of the 2014 Oral History Association鈥檚 Oral History in a Nonprint Format Award. The Oral History Association is an organization that seeks to bring together all people interested in oral history as a way of collecting and interpreting human memories to foster knowledge and human dignity.

Mindy Farmer, Ph.D., has been selected as the new director of the May 4 Visitors Center in the College of Arts and Sciences at 天天吃瓜. She started her new position on July 1. Farmer also will teach public history courses in 天天吃瓜 State鈥檚 Department of History as an assistant professor 鈥

JMC's Hanson to Moderate May 4 Discussion with Oscar-Winning Director

Professor Gary Hanson will moderate a discussion with Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone as part of the 43rd annual May 4, 1970 commemoration. Stone will speak about 鈥淗istory and Memory in Film,鈥 based on his films that depict 鈥60s-era events, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. on May 4 in the University Audit鈥
