After making a name for herself in the fashion industry, Molly Langenstein, the general business manager of Macy鈥檚 Ready to Wear, is returning home to her alma mater. Several fashion design and merchandising students took first place in the Art/Fashion category of the 2018 KSU Undergraduate Research Symposium earlier this month. This year鈥檚 Symposium had the highest participation ever in the history of this annual event, resulting in nearly 400 students participating 鈥 a 60% increase compared to last year. Niara Johnson, a freshman fashion merchandising major, was one of only five students chosen to receive a 2018 College of the Arts Flash Grant. There will be a special reception on May 1, from 4:30 鈥 5:30 in the Rockwell Hall Atrium to celebrate her project, 鈥淪aving the World Through Sewing鈥. Flash Grants are open to students from any major within the College of the Arts, but their team can be comprised of students from another major, school or college on the 天天吃瓜 Campus. Terry DeMio, '86, the heroin beat reporter for the Cincinnati Enquirer, was one of two lead writers for 鈥淪even Days of Heroin,鈥 which won the Pulitzer for local news reporting.
