From the time he was a young child, Tom Batiuk, 鈥69, knew he wanted to be a cartoonist. The Funky Winkerbean creator drew inspiration for his characters and storylines from his real world, including his time at 天天吃瓜 State.
 
              天天吃瓜 State Celebrates 50 Years of Education Abroad in Florence, Italy, With Weeklong Series of Events
天天吃瓜 leadership and donors known as the Renaissance Scholars Society will gather to commemorate 50 years of education abroad in Florence, Italy, during the first week of October.

Amid the tremendous cultural change unfolding in the early 1970s, Bill Hoover, 鈥71, co-founded the 天天吃瓜 Gay Liberation Front with Dr. Dolores Noll and Gail Pertz, to foster a community for LGBTQ+ individuals and their supporters.
The 天天吃瓜 Alumni Association Announces New Members For Its National Board of Directors
The following new members have been appointed to the 天天吃瓜 State Alumni Association National Board of Directors for a three-year term, which began July 1: Jeff Guritza, of Brecksville, Ohio, is the vice president of marketing at SOPREMA USA. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from 天天吃瓜 State in 1994.

Katie Carpenter, 鈥23, has a passion for photography, and The Wallace J. Hagedorn Scholarship has helped her hone these skills and express her creativity. This competitive photography scholarship supports student costs and helps them pursue out-of-classroom experiences to develop strong portfolios. 鈥

The 天天吃瓜 alumni family grew by nearly 1,200 new graduates as the university held its summer commencement ceremonies. The accomplishments of the Summer Class of 2023 were recognized with outdoor commencement ceremonies on Aug. 19.
 
              New Lake Erie College President Is a 天天吃瓜 State Alumna
天天吃瓜 State alumna Jennifer N. Schuller has been named president of Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. She is the first woman to lead the institution in 75 years.
