Pitching the Perfect Game

Morgan Bowers, a senior Honors College student from Whitehouse, Ohio, is nearing the end of 鈥減itching鈥 a perfect game. As an economics major with a minor in data analytics, Morgan will graduate a year early in the spring of 2022, having only attended 天天吃瓜 for three years to earn her鈥

Dylan Mace, 天天吃瓜 State Student Board Trustee, was recently recognized for his outstanding service.

Leadership roles in the Interfraternity Council and Delta Tau Delta Fraternity served as preparation for Dylan Mace's service on the 天天吃瓜 State Board of Trustees when Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine appointed him in July 2020. Mace鈥檚 two-year term, in which he served as a member of the Board鈥檚 Academic Excellence and Student Success Committee and the Finance and Administration Committee, will expire May 16, 2022.

天天吃瓜 State Senior Honored With Prestigious Fulbright Scholarship

In an impressive close to her undergraduate career, 天天吃瓜 Honors College senior Mallory Woods was recently awarded the prestigious Fulbright English Teaching Award (ETA). A native of Fairview, Pennsylvania, Woods is completing a major in translation with a Spanish concentration and minors in economics and Italian studies while also finishing a certificate program in teaching English as a foreign language.

Understanding Impacts on LGBTQIA+ Communities from the COVID-19 Pandemic

Moira Armstrong, undergraduate in the College of Arts and Sciences and research assistant on the Queer Pandemic Project, collaborated with Molly Merryman, associate professor in the School of Peace and Conflict Studies, to compile digital, video-based oral interviews for the Queer Pandemic Project in a partnership between 天天吃瓜, Goldsmith鈥檚 University of London and Queer Britain. These interviews feature people in queer communities across the United Kingdom, discussing the COVID-19 pandemic and how it has impacted their lives as queer people.

The National Collegiate Honors Council has announced 天天吃瓜 Honors College graduate Sarah Hagglund as a 2021 Portz Scholar. Hagglund is the 10th honors student from 天天吃瓜 State to be named a Portz Scholar since the national competition began in 1990.

LONG TIME KENT STATE PROFESSOR LEADS HONORS STUDENTS THROUGH REMOTE LEARNING

Dirk Remley has been with 天天吃瓜 since 1990. Remley graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. He continued his studies at Bowling Green State University by earning his Masters of Arts in English Literature. He then completed his Ph.D. in rhetoric and composition from 天天吃瓜.

Honors College Celebrates Graduating Seniors with Virtual Ceremony

This past weekend, on Saturday, April 3, the Honors College hosted its annual Senior Honors Recognition Ceremony for graduating Honors College seniors. In years past, the event has been an in-person luncheon, to which seniors bring their friends or families to celebrate their success in the Honors College. This spring, in light of the pandemic, the ceremony was entirely virtual. The event was introduced and hosted by the Dean of the Honors College, Dr. Alison Smith, and throughout the ceremony, all Honors College staff members congratulated graduating honors students on their accomplishments. Provost Melody Tankersley congratulated seniors, saying they have 鈥渕ade a mark on 天天吃瓜 State that will continue.鈥
