ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï State to Hold Virtual May 4 Commemoration, Honor Wounded Students
In keeping with the commitment to honor and remember the events of May 4, 1970, ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï will hold a virtual May 4 51st Commemoration this year. The virtual commemoration will feature a video premiering at noon on Tuesday, May 4, that focuses on the nine wounded students: Alan Canfora, John Cleary, Thomas Grace, Dean Kahler, Joseph Lewis, Donald Mackenzie, James Russell, Robert Stamps and Douglas Wrentmore.
Pittsburgh Penguins and ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï State Partnership Scores Unique Opportunities for Golden Flashes
ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï State has partnered with the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins since 2018, allowing this nationally recognized hockey team to work closely with the university and providing professional and recreational aid to the ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï State community. ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï is once again at the top tier when it comes to exhibiting leading practices and supporting post-military students, receiving the 2021-2022 Military Friendly® School designation for its ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï Campus. ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, to celebrate King’s life and legacy. Serving as this year’s keynote speaker is CNN political analyst and former South Carolina state Rep. Bakari Sellers. The virtual program is free and open to the public.

The ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï alumni family will grow by more than 2,500 new graduates as the university holds its fall commencement. The accomplishments of the Fall Class of 2020 will be recognized with a virtual commencement recognition ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 19.
